The Giving Kitchen

The Giving Kitchen is a new and growing initiative, created in response to rising food poverty in our community. Each week we are cooking and delivering hundreds of fresh, nutritious meals to those in need.

Following a successful pilot, The Giving Kitchen was officially opened by Chief Rabbi Mirvis and the Mayor of Barnet on 17 November 2021. Each week, teams of dedicated volunteers turn up to peel, chop, cook, pack and deliver the hearty soup and delicious meals prepared in the GIFT HQ/Jewish Futures kitchen.

The Giving Kitchen epitomises the vision of GIFT - helping those in need whilst simultaneously enabling our volunteers to make a real difference. Current recipients include those at risk of food insecurity - including the sick, the elderly, and those struggling with mental health issues.

With plans to extend the programme in 2022, we welcome your support. If you can help with cooking, delivering, donating ingredients or enjoy washing dishes, please email us at givingkitchen@jgift.org
